Fiercely independent news for Cape of Good Hope

The Cape Independent is a news website about politics and current affairs. We publish stories and opinion articles focused on the Western Cape, and on efforts towards greater local autonomy and decentralisation more broadly.

While most news sites in South Africa claim to be impartial, they almost universally push a left-wing perspective, with only a couple of notable exceptions.

We have aimed instead to provide a modicum of balance, by offering a voice to more conservative perspectives, and aim to be the leading conservative voice in the Cape.

We are, as our name suggests, fully independent and not affiliated with any other news and media company.
